Coming up at our next Views and Brews at the Cactus Cafe this Tuesday at 6, it’s a story of the most influential movie never made, The Hook! Join KUT’s Rebecca McInroy along with Dr. Charlotte Canning and a cast of players to talk about the relationship between Arthur Miller and Elia Kazan, Blacklisting in Hollywood, and what this colorful past can teach us about our current social and political moment in the arts. The Cactus Cafe is a live music venue and bar in the historic Texas Union on the campus of The University of Texas at Austin. Located in Austin, Texas, a city frequently referred to as “the live music capital of the world,” a number of well-known artists have played in the Cactus, and Billboard Magazine named it as one of fifteen “solidly respected, savvy clubs” in the United States, “from which careers can be cut, that work with proven names and new faces.”
