Coming up with our next Views and Brews it’s “The Green New Deal, Explained.” Join us for a taping of KUT podcast The Secret Ingredient with KUT’s Rebecca McInroy, Raj Patel, author of, “A History of the World in Seven Cheap Things,” and food and agriculture correspondent for Mother Jones Magazine, Tom Philpott, to talk about what the green new deal is, what it could mean for the future of agriculture, and what it will take to revive this plan in an effort to save the planet. The Cactus Cafe is a live music venue and bar in the historic Texas Union on the campus of The University of Texas at Austin. Located in Austin, Texas, a city frequently referred to as “the live music capital of the world,” a number of well-known artists have played in the Cactus, and Billboard Magazine named it as one of fifteen “solidly respected, savvy clubs” in the United States, “from which careers can be cut, that work with proven names and new faces.”
