Singer-songwriter-guitarist Patrick Sampson is familiar with the meaning of polar opposites. That’s because Patrick is barely in his 20s, but he’s been channeling the maturity of an older, seasoned songwriter ever since he wrote his first song at the age of 15. The depth of his lyrics and storytelling abilities could’ve been created by songwriters at least twice his age.
Some fans have even compared him to John Mayer. Patrick can reel you in with a soothing, personal acoustic song, then change lanes and tear things up on his guitar. Overlay a multi-octave voice that doesn’t sound like anyone else in the business. There’s only one word to describe Patrick Sampson, unique.
The Cactus Cafe is a live music venue and bar in the historic Texas Union on the campus of The University of Texas at Austin. Located in Austin, Texas, a city frequently referred to as “the live music capital of the world,” a number of well-known artists have played in the Cactus, and Billboard Magazine named it as one of fifteen “solidly respected, savvy clubs” in the United States, “from which careers can be cut, that work with proven names and new faces.”
