John Neilson is a Singer/Songwriter based in Austin, TX. He has had numerous songs placed in TV & Film. He has opened for Jason Isbell, Brett Dennen, Bob Schneider, & American Aquarium to name a few. His most recent release, “Tomorrow Comes the Spring”, was released on Lounge Side Records, a boutique label run out of the former South Austin hot spot “Strange Brew Lounge Side”. The first single, “Fall”, received national airplay on College Radio, and 6 songs were placed in TV & Film productions. John’s band includes Austin legends such as Don Harvey on Drums, Kim Deschamps on Pedal Steel, Michael Davids on Keys, Jeff Loeb on Guitar, Bill Walter on Bass, and Milly Koplos Cobb on vocals.

The Cactus Cafe is a live music venue and bar in the historic Texas Union on the campus of The University of Texas at Austin. Located in Austin, Texas, a city frequently referred to as “the live music capital of the world,” a number of well-known artists have played in the Cactus, and Billboard Magazine named it as one of fifteen “solidly respected, savvy clubs” in the United States, “from which careers can be cut, that work with proven names and new faces.”
