Daisy Austin singer-songwriter DAISY returns to the Cactus Cafe after a summer on the road, bringing troubadour John Craigie for an evening of modern folk songs and storytelling.
Craigie has toured relentlessly the past 6 years, taking his unique musical style across the United States and the world. A singer, songwriter and storyteller, he stays true to the essence of folk music, and the traditions of the seminal writers of our past century. With timeless melodies and insightful lyrics—interspersed with witty storytelling—his songs take many poetic turns before bringing his listeners back home. His themes range from social commentary to personal empowerment, political satire, and modern love.
DAISY is preparing to record her first full-length album. While on tour, Daisy continues to write a song a week- inspired by the landscapes and stories she finds. “My goal is to uplift the beauty of the feminine spirit and mother nature, in a world where both spirits face oppressed.” Daisy has a songwriting residency at the Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center, where she draws inspiration from native landscapes and the adventurous spirit of our former first lady. Daisy is excited to unveil new songs and her new band “Daisy & The Late Bloomers” at the Cactus Cafe.
