Our 2015-2016 Classical Cactus Series begins with the Austin debut of Armenian classical guitarists Lilit Mardiyan (8PM) followed by Brazilian jazz virtuoso Gabriel Santiago playing with his fabulous quartet (Gabriel Santiago, Guitars & Vocals; Justin Vasquez, Saxophones; Sam Pankey, Bass; Daniel Dufour, Drums). For a taste of the magic we’ll experience, here’s a look at what Lilit can do, and here’s the Gabriel Santiago Project in the recording studio.

Cactus Cafe

The Cactus Cafe is a live music venue and bar in the historic Texas Union on the campus of The University of Texas at Austin. Located in Austin, Texas, a city frequently referred to as “the live music capital of the world,” a number of well-known artists have played in the Cactus, and Billboard Magazine named it as one of fifteen “solidly respected, savvy clubs” in the United States, “from which careers can be cut, that work with proven names and new faces.”
