ATX Celebrates International Women’s Day 2019

Join Cecilia + the Broken Hearts, Tiarra Girls and Leti Garza y La Banda for an evening in celebration of Austin’s Second Annual: ATX International Women’s Day 2019; Gender Harmony Through Music With Deep Austin Rooted Award Winning Power House Bands, We bring ATX together through the diverse music of rock, cumbia, salsa, son and pop. Cecilia + the Broken Hearts are an Afro-Chicano Futurism band formed in Austin, TX. They have been featured on NPR’s Alt-Latino and in 2016 performed at the Cactus Cafe as part of the NPR Tiny Desk Contest Tour. Their musical focus is based on traditional Latin rhythms that are layered underneath melodic three part harmonies, and complemented by driving guitars, accordion, flute and synth. From Rumba to Cumbia to Conjunto, Cecilia + the Broken Hearts is working to push the boundaries of Latin music and create a perfect amalgamation. https://ceciliathebrokenhearts.bandcamp.com/

Tiarra Girls: the fierce sisterhood of Tiffany, Tori, and Sophia Baltierra. Three-time Austin Music Award winners and Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders alumni, the power trio delivers an eclectic sound and anthemic lyrics celebrating a message of unity and empowerment both in English and in Spanish. They are Archived in the Austin History Center as the Youngest Latina Band in Austin Texas http://tiarragirls.com/ Leti Garza, award-winning international entertainer, from Austin, Texas, sings Latin music with a World sensibility. Her multilingual album, El Unico Para Mi, made Texas Music Magazine’s top ten favorite albums of 2017. The song, Frio en el Alma, was also a listed favorite in 2017 by NPR’s Alt/Latino program. Leti has received a Distinguished Music Award by the Texas Music Museum, Austin, TX, as well as recognition by the Austin History Center for her contributions to Texas Music. Leti promotes inclusion and the power of diversity, and will perform with La Banda, her Austin band, for this event.
